It is with great thanks that I accept the gift presented to me by the Bulgarian Business Center of Pittsburgh. The generous outpouring of help from the Bulgarian community since my mother’s death has touched me deeply. It can often be difficult to get back on one’s feet after such a loss, and it can be a great boon to find support from others. Having been an academic all her life, my mother always encouraged me in the realm of education, and I am certain that few things would have made her happier than knowing that I was provided for when it came to continuing my studies at the University of Pittsburgh. The gift I have received will be used help me where my mother cannot.
